Last week the boys had a special treat... Nana! She flew in from Montana to meet baby Oliver and see how much our boys have grown since she last saw them over a year ago. It was so much fun having her here! For most of the week Jayne, Seth, and Oliver also stayed here so they could get maximum Nana time, too. The house was definitely full, but it was so much fun having so much family over all at once! The only thing that could have made the week more perfect was if Auntie Julia had been able to come out, too. We missed her so much!
The time just flew by and we were all very sad to see Nana go this morning. We are very much looking forward to her next visit sometime in March or April 2009... after all, there will be a new baby for her to meet by then, too! :)
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK:
* Shopping with Nana as she went a little crazy buying Oliver adorable clothes and shower gifts! Jack and Eddie didn't totally miss out - she bought them the DVD 'Toy Story' which they both just love! (And of course she kept them pumped with all sorts of candy! I couldn't deny a Nana's right to spoiling her grandchildren. :)
* Pride & Prejudice night! (The REAL one - with Colin Firth and Jennifer
Ehle, not the knock off
Keira Knightly version!) I'm used to watching this movie alone (Justin cannot be persuaded that Colin Firth alone is worth watching the film for :) so having Jayne and Mom here to enjoy it with was heaven!
* Seth was officially converted to
NASCAR when Justin took him to a race during our aforementioned 'Pride & Prejudice' night. At first he was pretty ambivalent about going, but when he and Justin got home around 1 a.m. he was sporting a new
NASCAR t-shirt and hat representing his favorite driver. (I can't remember who it is.) Now he's practically memorized all there is to know about
NASCAR and Jayne is officially a member of the
NASCAR widows club! :)
Here are some pictures of the fun we had with Nana, Aunt Jayne, Uncle Seth, and Cousin Oliver:
A 'Meet the Baby' party for Jayne and Oliver! Great friends and food...is there anything else?
The new mommy and the Nana.
A fun walk on a beautiful day!
Isn't my nephew adorable?! Holding a newborn all week has definitely made me even more anxious to meet our little girl in just a few months!
Identical twins! Oliver looks exactly like his daddy - posture and all! :)
Nana and grandchild #3 - Oliver Seth!
Nana and my boys.
Eddison gave Nana plenty of hugs and snuggles (and played lots of 'chase' with her!) during her visit.
Jack and Nana got to be bunk mates for the week! Jackson sleeps on the top bunk and got to enjoy having Nana on the bottom bunk every morning...even if his main motive was to scare her by hiding in the closet before she woke up. :)
I could NOT get a picture of all of them looking at the same time! So here's the 'Nana with all of her grandchildren' shot... Thanks to my boys for being the two trouble-makers!
A proud Nana and her newest grandson, Oliver.
