On May 19th, 2011, Jackson graduated (again) from Morningstar Presbyterian Preschool! Because his birthday was/is so close to the cut-off date for Kindergarten we were faced with a decision of whether to enroll him or wait a year. We deliberated and prayed, talked to other mom's of boys with summer birthdays, and after doing so ultimately decided that it would be in his best interest to have one more year of preschool. And we are SO glad we did! He has matured so much over the past year and is that much more prepared for Kindergarten. (Plus - he'll be able to leave for his mission right after he graduates from High School. And yes, that was one of the factors in our final decision! :) He had another wonderful year with Ms. Mary Beth and Ms. Tracey and I know he'll miss them greatly next year! Ms. Mary Beth made us promise to drop by and see her often, though. She had a big soft spot for Jack (she's a fellow animal lover) and she even bought the class it's very first 'class pet' hamster because of him! (She's been the director and teacher of this preschool for over 15 years so that's saying a lot!)
I can't say I blame her... Jackson is such a loving, energetic, innocent, and genuine little boy. He's very empathetic to others and is just so full of life and (most of the time) oblivious to 'worldly' things that it's hard not to just be drawn into his animated explanations of the butterfly life cycle, which snake is the most poisonous, whether a hippo can take a giraffe, etc. He's constantly entertaining Justin and me with his questions and impressing us with his knowledge. We are truly blessed to have Jackson in our family!
Jackson and Ms. Tracey. She wasn't quite as fond of his fascination of bugs... Particularly when he would bring his 'latest catch' to show her. But we loved her, too. :)
Jackson's beloved Ms. Mary Beth. I cannot imagine a more amazing teacher for Jackson to have had for the past two years. Not only has she given him an invaluable positive introduction to education, but she's loved, encouraged, and supported him in his interests. If only she could teach K-12!

How was this year different from last year's graduation? Umm, he actually sang and sat up in his chair this time? :) (It's amazing how much a year can do!)
