It's Fun to Swim at the Y - M - C - A!!!

So... What to do when school's out and the the hot Carolina weather begins breaking heat records before Summer has even officially begun?! YMCA, baby! Yep - we finally bit the bullet and got a membership towards the end of May. It may be a bit of a drive, but it has been SO worth it! The splash park is awesome, I'm now addicted to the cycling (spinning) and pilates classes (and can't wait to try Yoga!), and the kids LOVE going!

Summa' time - and the livin' is easy...

He's getting freckles and they are oh, so cute! :)

Eddison is also getting some freckles on the bridge of his nose. I find them adorable!
Beckett gives his approval of the Splash Park, but thinks Mommy needs to tan her pasty skin a little before letting Daddy take any more pictures... :)

When we're not at the YMCA - there are many other things that have been keeping us busy! For example - trying on Beckett's shorts. (You may be wondering why? I've stopped asking...)

I'm impressed Eddie got these on! They were skin tight and ultra-short. Kind of like 1970's basketball shorts now that I think about it.

And when a thunder storm rolls in to chase us away from the pool - we improvise with a picnic on the floor! Popcorn and a movie on Net.flix can save any afternoon!

Beckett is actually quite fond of picnics on the floor. It wouldn't have anything to do with his being the best little scrounger of all time, would it?

Nah...

And, of course, Summer hasn't begun without a trip to Baskin Robbins!

Eddie did fantastic for his first session of swimming lessons at the YMCA. This kid is fearless in the water which is both a good thing and a bad thing. I can't wait until he's 'swim safe'!

Jack also did awesome at his swim class. He impressed Ms. Heather (their teacher) and was the only one in the class that she recommended skip to the next level instead of taking the 2nd half of this class. In fact, he may be part mer-man.
