Happy half-year birthday, little bug! Your six-month mark happened to land right on Valentine's Day so it somehow felt extra-special. :) You kept Mommy company in the kitchen all day as she made a special dinner for Daddy (chinese food!) and then you even got to try solids for the very first time! Mommy decided to let you have a few bites of YoBaby yogurt just to introduce you to texture and while you seemed to have a laid-back 'take it or leave it' kind of attitude about it, Mommy actually tear-boxed because she couldn't believe her baby was already old enough for solids! (Someday, when you have children of your own, you'll understand just how bittersweet these moments are! And if you don't, then your wife will! :)
At six months your love of sucking on your first two fingers (on your left hand) remains full-fledged. It's so.stinkin'.adorable! And now, when you've grown tired of sucking on your fingers, a toe or two will do! :) It's actually quite a nice change from having binky-babies since I can put you down for your naps and not have to worry about finding a binky first!
In other amazing news, you now not only push up as high as you can when you roll onto your tummy, but you've started to stick your bottom up and try to inch-worm your way around. So far you can scoot backwards a little, but forward is still a work in progress. :) At the rate you're going, however, you'll be crawling in no time.
"Little B" seems an appropriate nickname for you as you are still a peanut:
Weight: 12 lbs. 12 oz. (not on the chart)
Height: 25 3/4" (25th percentile)
Head Circ: 18" (50th percentile)
You love to 'sing' and blow raspberries and have even started sleeping in 8+ hour stretches at night (woo hoo!). Now that you're six months it's time for you to start sleeping in your own crib at night (you already take naps there during the day) instead of with Mommy and Daddy. But so far Daddy has gotten up to bring you into our room every night that you've been in your crib. :) (And no, it's not because you're crying or fussing or even awake! He just goes in to check on you before we go to bed and thinks you're too cute to leave alone! Mommy is secretly glad at Daddy's lack of willpower. :)
Thank you for being a part of our family! We all love you so very much!
Love,
Mommy, Daddy, Jackson, Eddison & Eleanor
