Last Saturday we had a small birthday party to celebrate the Little Miss turning 1 year old. We decorated in yellows and pinks and had a 'tea party' theme - which was so much fun! (Especially for the little girls, of course!)
Cupcakes! I used a recipe that apparently hails from a famous bakery in New York. They were pretty tasty (for a vanilla cupcake, anyway ;). I used the same bakery's butter cream frosting recipe, but added a touch of raspberry extract to make it a little more flavorful. Yum.
A party without streamers and balloons just isn't a party...
'Ellie' the rat was a big hit among party guests...
Eleanor in her party dress! Isn't she beautiful?!
Seriously, when did she become this little toddler?! Where is my tiny little (bald) newborn?!
Time to get down to business...
Norah, in true lady-like fashion, delicately picked at the frosting for the first few minutes... Sampling a little here and a little there...
Some of it made it to her mouth... The rest was simply pulverized in her death-grip.
She left no survivors...
Taking a breather on Miss Julie's lap.
Present time! Norah received some very cute toys. Thank you, friends!
Here she is giving her very first baby doll a kiss. So cute!
Some pre-party excitement :).
Eleanor's Grandma and Grandpa Wilde sent her the cutest little dress and matching headband! (The adorable stroller and doll was a gift from the Burgess's and Johnston's.)
Isn't this little outfit adorable?! She probably won't grow into the dress for another few months (just in time for summer!) since she's a peanut, but I wanted to get a picture anyway :). And the headband fits great! Another testament to my disproportionately big-headed children. ;)
A perfect way to end the day...
Happy 1st Birthday, Norah June. We hope you had a good one! :)
