Eleanor June - 6 months

6 month growth stats:

Height:  24.5 inches (5%)

Weight:  11 lbs. 12 oz. (not on chart)

Head Circ:  16.75 inches (50% ;)

Tiny, but perfect.

Dear Norah,

We can't believe you've been with us for six months already!  The time has passed so quickly and it seems that just yesterday you were swimming in your preemie clothes and sleeping 20 hours a day.  

* You can easily flip from your back to your tummy as well as from your tummy to your back and often roll to wherever you're trying to get to.

* You can also push up and pull your little body, inch by inch, in a kind of forward army crawl and have been practicing getting on all fours.  Real crawling is not too far away!

* You smile at EVERYONE and very few things make you unhappy.  Even getting your immunizations you only cried for as long as it took for me to pick you up and cuddle you.

* You LOVE to chew on anything you can get your hands on!  Including your own hands. :)  There are no teeth in sight yet, but I'll bet they'll be here soon!

 

* Things that make you smile and laugh:  Jackson saying and singing funny things to you, Daddy running your hand over his scratchy beard, Daddy making you do the "shakin' your booty" dance, Mommy tickling your sides and back.  Your smiles and your laugh are so beautiful!

* Since your six month birthday you have moved out of the co-sleeper that kept you safe and close to Mommy at night and have transitioned to your own room.  You sleep wonderfully (and have since you were born!), going down around 7:30 - 8:00 p.m. and waking around 6:30 - 7:00 a.m.   

Thank you for the sweet and gentle spirit that you bring to this house where crazy boys can make it seem so chaotic at times!  Thank you for being so patient with your big brother's who don't understand their own strength (or lack of coordination) sometimes.  They love you so much and sometimes try a little too hard to show you by attempting to pick you up or slapping your belly to help burp you.  

Both Jack and Eddie thank Heavenly Father for you in their prayers (Eddie calls you "No-na") and love to introduce people to you. 

We are so grateful that you are a part of our family my little sugar-bug and hummingbird.  And though we would stop time if we could and keep you as you are, we are excited to watch you grow and reach many more milestones over the next six months.
